SPACE - Stage & Performing Arts Club Episkopi - is the
local theatre group for the British Forces in Episkopi, Cyprus. SPACE offers
a wealth of activities such as plays, pantomimes, music workshops, quiz nights, trips
to other theatres, and more. As the name suggests, SPACE presents much more
than just putting on a play, and we welcome ideas to develop the ‘performing
arts’ aspect of the club.

SPACE puts on several productions each year, including our very popular
Pantomimes, a feature length production, Showcases by SPACE Youth Theatre
and more. We also aim to perform a one-act play at the Rosebowl Drama Festival
each year.
The club opens for a ‘social’ on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm
(except during productions and school holidays). Come
along to meet the other members… and take advantage of our very cheap bar! There
is often an event organized at least once a month, such as theme-nights, Quizzes,
reading new plays, music workshops and more.
SPACE also has a very strong
Youth Theatre, under the direction of Nand Cassily,
for school years FS1 through to 11. The Youth Theatre has about 100 budding actors
who take part in weekly workshops to learn about all aspects of the theatre,
including drama, singing, voice, rhythm and movement, stage makeup and how the
theatre works behind the scenes. They stage a Showcase of their work throughout
the academic year.

Club members are serving personnel, UKBC's and
their dependents working for the armed forces in British Forces Episkopi. We
also have a strong affiliation of ex-pat members, and we have a waiting
list of non-entitled persons wishing to join the club.
In addition to those willing to tread the boards, we are always on the
look-out for people to help with set-building, set-painting, lights & sound,
costume, make-up, front of house, direct new plays, and more.
Any skills and time you can offer is really valued.
